If you’ve been following me for awhile you know I love my green smoothies and the MOST important ingredient to make a green smoothie taste sweet and delectable is without a doubt, lemon.
In Ontario right now, we are just at the end of strawberry season, but I managed to get my hands on a quart while up north this past weekend. So this morning I decided to make myself a strawberry smoothie!
I often use vanilla to sweeten a strawberry smoothie, but today I decided to use lemon. OMG honestly, it was the best damn strawberry smoothie I have EVER had! I felt like I was drinking the best artisan strawberry sherbet known to man!
So I just had to jump on here and give you the recipe STAT!
1.5 scoops of Raw Vanilla Brown Rice Protein (Sunwarrior)
1 cup of fresh strawberries
1 whole lemon peeled (if you don’t have a high-powered blender just use the juice)
1 tablespoon of organic almond butter
1/4 of a small banana (optional)
1-2 cups of water
3-4 ice cubes
Blend and enjoy this deliciously balanced, sweet and fresh tasting smoothie!
