I’m all fired up today!
This video was taken AFTER I completed my workout this morning.
Here is the backstory!
After posting that blog last night about the change in my body composition since I broke my wrist in two places, I started thinking.
Sure, it’s great that I stayed on my path, continued to eat well, didn’t let it completely throw me under the bus and kept a positive attitude.
Because the truth is, when obstacles occur in life, the majority of people let it be their excuse. Sad, but true.
So yeah, I could give myself a pat on the back. But something in the back of my head kept saying “That’s not the whole story, you COULD have done more.”
This morning when my alarm went off at 6am, I thought about going back to sleep for another hour. Last night I didn’t get to sleep early because of challenges with my teen daughter. So yes, I was tired.
But I took a quick look at my Facebook newsfeed, and the first thing I saw was was something from Gary Vaynerchuk.
The quote was ” You are 100% in charge of your f**king life, stop bitching”!
And that was it, I was fired up!
I jumped out of bed and smashed it at the gym!
Started my workout off with a tabata sprinting session, complete with my @bodyrocktv weighted vest.
But all through my workout, I kept thinking….
As much as I’ve done. I’m capable of so much more.
SO MUCH.
I could have pushed harder. But the truth is some days I let my wrist and some other bullshit in my life be my excuse.
Some days I stayed up too late and slept in instead of staying with my routine and getting a workout in at 6am.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not beating myself up. I’m proud of how I’ve handled the last few months of my life through a lot of adversity!
BUT, if I’m honest with myself. It wasn’t my best. I could have worked harder, I could have accomplished more.
That quote resonated with me because inadvertently, I WAS whining that I lost some of my hard-earned muscle. When the truth is, I could’ve worked harder I could’ve gone to the gym more, I could’ve done more lower body weights.
My message to you is this:
GET REAL with yourself!
Stop telling yourself that somebody else has it easier than you!
Because the reality is, (this may be hard to swallow) the people who HAVE what you want. The body you want, the success you want the relationship you want. I guarantee you it doesn’t come easy. They are putting in the work and pushing hard every single day! They are NOT making excuses, they are not allowing “good enough” to be all they have to give.
So today, take your best and add one small thing to step it up a notch. I KNOW and YOU KNOW, YOU CAN!
It’s not about competing with anyone, it’s about always striving for YOUR personal best.
Today I’m pushing out of my comfort zone.
I know you can too! Imagine the possibilities!

I was at Mayfair too this morning killing it
Way to go! No better way to start the day 🙂
Great video! I myself had to take my little one to the dentist in Etobicoke by ttc so it’s a small thing but instead of taking one bus we walked. A good, long, brisk walk and on a day like today it did wonders for my sanity! Not really kick butt but I’m glad I made that secision
Walking is fantastic and highly underrated. You’re right, it’s the perfect thing for stress, I’m sure your sanity levels were thankful! xo
Nice, Ciara! I was not a morning person, but for the past year I’ve woken up at 5:45 every morning and do yoga, jump squat and burped kinds of exercises in the peace and quiet of my bathroom. Why the bathroom? I started the habit while getting ready and it grew to an hour regime that starts my day off right. If I had to go out to a gym it wouldn’t always happen. I always find myself in the bathroom, so why not condition to work out while there is my reasoning. Sometimes I take it to the basement gym but always in the house. The bathroom often guarantees no interruptions. I may even be classified as a morning person now! Sometimes I’ll go for a run in addition, when the weather is nice like it was today.
Love that Andrea Bain! It is crazy the impact a good morning routine can make on your life, right?!
Love this! Very inspiring!
